Are you watching Daryl Dixon?
in which Ramona's husband Carlos plays a charismatic (cult) leader?
Are you watching The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, aka The Walking Dead in Paris? The real name is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Book of Carol… plus something lovely in French. It’s a really long title. And I cannot get enough. Friend and collaborator (and Ramona’s sexy husband) Joel de la Fuente, plays the charismatic, charming (I’ve been asked not to use C Words, which I thought meant something else. Anyway!) He’s the leader of a lovely community that reminds me a little of the macrobiotic place I visited in my 20’s. (One has zombies, the other had miso. Although if I’m being honest, when we were macro-inspired vegans, we really did think of meat-eaters as zombies. But that’s another post.) I think the show is great, and Season 2 launches on Sunday on AMC Plus and Netflix.
And while we’re plugging things we love, Ramona loves The Body Politic, a new documentary about Baltimore’s mayor, Brandon Scott. I caught the film at the Omaha Film Festival, and I’m so grateful that I did. If you happen to be in New York this week, Body Politic is screening at DCTV. The film will be shown three times a day, with eight screenings followed by in-person Q&As with the filmmakers and film participants. Mayor Scott himself will join many of these post-screening conversations.
